About Our Journey

Every day, before the sun rises, headlights pull into the parking lot of our town’s only ice arena. Kids lace up their skates in the dark, yawning through 5:30 a.m. practices because there simply isn’t any other ice time available. Parents rush from work to late-night games that don’t end until 10:30 p.m. Skaters of all ages wait in long lines for open ice, sharing a dream that often exceeds our single sheet’s limits.

And yet—despite the overcrowded schedule, despite the impossible hours—our rink is full of laughter, determination, and community. It has become the heartbeat of winter sports in Casper. But the heart is working overtime.  Our community has outgrown the one sheet of ice.

We see it every day:

  • Kids turned away from learn-to-skate because there’s no room.

  • Teams commuting to neighboring towns just to practice.

  • Families juggling impossible schedules.

  • Volunteers and coaches trying to make the most of too little space.

And still, more kids want to lace up skates. More families want to join. More smiles, friendships, and memories are waiting to be made.  We don’t want to tell any child “there’s no room for you.”

A second ice arena would change everything.  It would mean:

  • A child stepping onto the ice for the first time, feeling confident instead of intimidated.

  • Parents cheering from the stands at reasonable hours—not from the car during a late-night drive home.

  • Local tournaments filling Casper hotels, restaurants, and shops with energy and excitement.

  • A place where every skater—youth, adult, recreational, competitive—has the opportunity to grow.

  • A town with more to offer, where families feel proud to call it home.

This is more than a construction project.  This is an investment in childhood, in community, and in a brighter future for everyone who lives here.

The current rink has carried us this far. It has given champions, friendships, and unforgettable moments. But now, it’s time to build the next chapter—a place where every kid has ice time, where programs can flourish, and where our community can come together in ways we’ve only dreamed of.  We’re ready to build that future and need the support of people who believe in what this rink represents.

Your generosity can help ensure that every child who wants to skate, play, learn, and belong has that opportunity.

Together, we can all create a second sheet of ice arena that will serve Casper for generations— a place where memories are made, where families gather, and where this community thrives.
